News! The YSL* brand a part of PPR is going to join other luxury brands in taking a step towards sustainability. First, they launched recycled handbags that had the fashionistas reeling with excitement. Then, they decided just this year to launch a new initiative that will put them into the group of luxury brands who are doing an audit of their footprint in how they manufacture and distribute their luxury goods. A step in the right direction and one that takes the company into a new socially responsible direction. When speaking of fashion trends, this is the latest one on the scene that really counts and will begin the long road to sustainability by many large luxury concerns who recognize that to be focusing on this issue, is good business. We love the idea that we can shop for a handbag that is YSL conceived and also good for the planet. So, with the elegance, luxury and sustainability as a new goal, new designs will emerge that take on the concept and bring that extra touch of luxury to the mix. We’re on board!
